You send the references and the libraries you own. I dial the kit and processing in Superior Drummer 3 and deliver a single .sd3p file ready to load.

  1. Describe the drum sound

    Send 2–3 reference songs with drum tones you love. Note what you want emphasised: punch, room, snare crack, low-end weight, natural feel, modern polish, aggression, ambience.

  2. Share your SD3 context

    List the SDX/EZX libraries you own (right in the configurator). Mention how you use drums — writing, e-kit playing, production, demos — and any SD3 compatibility notes I should know.

  3. Receive your custom preset

    I dial and check against multi-source monitoring and translation references. Delivered as a single .sd3p file with a short loading note. One revision round included.

What SDX/EZX libraries do I need?

Any combination you already own. The point of the service is to build the preset around your libraries — not force you to buy more. Pick the closest match to your target sound from what you have, list the libraries in the configurator, and I work from there.

If you're unsure which library best fits your reference, leave it blank or note the reference in the brief — I'll suggest options.

How do I load the preset in Superior Drummer 3?

Open Superior Drummer 3, go to File → Open, and select the delivered .sd3p file. The kit, SD3 mixer balances, EQ, compression, sends, and effects load automatically. A short loading note is included if anything needs a global setting check.

Will it work with my electronic drum kit?

Yes. Trigger Superior Drummer 3 with your e-kit's MIDI output and play through the preset. Velocity layers and dynamics react to your kit as normal. If you tell me which trigger module you use (Roland TD-series, Pearl Mimic, Alesis Strike, ATV, etc.), I can flag any mapping or articulation defaults to check.

Is this a DAW multi-output template?

No. This service delivers a finished .sd3p preset with the drum mix built inside Superior Drummer 3's internal mixer — channel balances, EQ, compression, sends, and effects are all part of the SD3 project. It is meant to load as one complete SD3 preset, not as a DAW multi-out session. If you need every mic group routed to separate DAW tracks, order the Custom Template for Your DAW service instead.

What genres do you cover?

Rock and metal (classic to modern), djent, progressive, hardcore, post-rock, pop-punk, indie, alternative, blues, country, and clean pop/singer-songwriter productions. Bass-heavy modern productions are a natural fit. If you have a specific reference artist or song, point at it directly in the brief.

Can I customise the preset after delivery?

Absolutely — that's the point. All mixer channels, EQ, compression, sends, and effects are fully adjustable. Use it as-is for instant results, or tweak every parameter to match what your song needs as it evolves.

How long does it take?

Standard delivery is approximately 2 months from a full brief and references received. Rush service is approximately 2 weeks. Exact ETA is confirmed once the scope is agreed.

How many revisions are included?

One revision round. Notes should be itemised in a single message — what should be punchier, brighter, drier, more open, more aggressive, etc. Additional revision rounds can be added at a flat per-round rate.

How is the preset delivered?

Private download link with the .sd3p file and a short PDF or text note with loading instructions and any recommended global settings.
