The DOOM RACK

Your sound is copied into four chains that run side by side with it: Crunch, Echo, Phaser and Feedback, each a row of gear on its own fader. With Vel FX on, a soft note stays clean and a hard one opens the damage. Link lets the hits push the echoes and the howl aside so they fill the gaps, and the DOOM bus compressor glues it all and pulls up the tails.

Three oscillators, nine types

Every oscillator can be a wavetable, a classic shape, a supersaw, FM, phase distortion, additive, granular, a plucked string or noise, with up to 16 unison voices. Under it all a sub that stays mono and exact, so the riff always has a floor.

Distortion that holds up in a mix

Seven circuits from smooth overdrive and warm tube to a tight high-gain stack, fuzz, foldback and crush. Shape the tone before and after the drive, and the speaker curve keeps the top from fizzing. Distorted rhythm and lead tones made from the synth alone.

Does ArgWave 3 replace ArgWave 2? Will my old projects still open?

ArgWave 3 is a new plugin that installs beside ArgWave 2, so your old projects still open in ArgWave 2 and sound as before. All 500 ArgWave 2 presets and their wavetables are built into ArgWave 3, and your own ArgWave 2 presets import in one click.

What is the DOOM RACK?

Four chains of damage (Crunch, Echo, Phaser and Feedback) that run side by side with your sound on faders. With Vel FX on, how hard you play decides which chains open: play softly for a clean line, dig in and the damage arrives. The DOOM knob at the end squashes the hits and pulls up the tails.

Is it only for metal?

It is built for heavy music, from metal and djent to industrial, dubstep and cinematic scores. The presets cover subs and 808s, riff layers, drops, drones, leads, pads, plucks, risers and ambient sounds, and every part of the synth works on its own if you want it clean.

Do I need a sidechain to make room for my kick?

No. Set Duck to a key and put a MIDI note there wherever your kick plays: ArgWave 3 dips for a moment on every hit. Sub Lock keeps the low end clean and mono under all the distortion.

Can I make my own wavetables?

Yes. In the LAB you can import wavetables, turn any recording into a wavetable, or resample the sound you are playing. Your tables travel with your projects, so a project still sounds the same on another computer.

What are expansion packs?

An expansion pack is one file with new presets and their own wavetables. Drop it on the ArgWave 3 window, or click Install pack in the preset browser, and the sounds are there in the plugin and the standalone app.

Which expansion packs are there, and how do I install them?

There are six, each with 1000 presets on 1000 wavetables of their own: Breakdown Engine for modern metal and djent, Black Assembly for industrial metal, Brimstone Circuits for hybrid metal, Voltage Noir for darksynth, Stormwall for trailer music and Sub Mutiny for heavy bass music. Get them one by one, the three metal packs in the Metal Expansion Bundle, the other three in the Electronic Expansion Bundle, all six in the Complete Expansion Bundle, or the synth with the three metal packs in the ArgWave 3 + Expansions Bundle. They need ArgWave 3 version 3.0.1 or newer, a free update in your downloads. To install, drag the pack file onto the ArgWave 3 window.

Which systems and DAWs does it work with?

Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) as VST3 and a standalone app with ASIO, and macOS 11 or newer on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs as AU, VST3 and a standalone app. It works in any DAW that loads VST3 or AU. There is no AAX version for Pro Tools.

Is there a subscription?

No. It is a one-time purchase with an instant download. Every preset and wavetable is inside the plugin, so there is no content folder to install or lose.
