What hardware and software do I need to use FXTHOLOGY for Fractal FM3?

A Fractal Audio FM3 (original, Mark II or Mark II Turbo) running firmware 13.00 or later, plus FM3-Edit, the free editor from Fractal Audio. The blocks are stamped for firmware 13.00, so update the unit first if you are on an earlier version.

How do I load an effect block?

Open a preset in FM3-Edit, select the block you want to replace, drag the .blk file onto it and save the preset. A block only loads onto a block of the same type - a reverb preset goes on a Reverb block, a delay preset on a Delay block. If a file will not load, check you dropped it on the matching block type.

Do the tempo-synced delays follow my song tempo?

Yes. Where a preset is meant to be rhythmic it uses the unit's own tempo division - a dotted eighth stays a dotted eighth at any BPM. Presets that should not follow tempo, like slapback, use an absolute time in milliseconds instead.

Will these work on an FM9?

No. Effect blocks are unit-specific - the file carries the FM3's own identity and parameter layout, so an FM9 cannot load them. This edition is for the FM3 only.
