Electric Coliseum: 128 DeepMind 12 Presets fills one bank of your synth with 128 programs for Behringer DeepMind 12, DeepMind 12D and DeepMind 12XD (firmware 1.1 or newer). Big poly brass, soaring leads, wide string pads, bright keys and classic rock synth stabs for prog and arena rock.

The sound

Electric Coliseum is the keyboard rig at the back of a big rock stage. Big poly brass for the chorus hits and the swells, soaring leads that sing over the band, wide string pads for the ballads, bright keys for the verses and punchy stabs that lock with the guitar riff. Made for prog, arena rock and AOR, and it sits well next to heavy guitars too.

How it plays

Hit open brass chords on the downbeat of the chorus, or swell into it with long held chords. Play the leads like a guitar solo: big intervals, long notes, and the mod wheel and aftertouch for expression. The played sounds respond to velocity, so dig in on the accents.

128 programs in one bank: 20 brass, 20 lead, 16 poly, 14 keys, 14 strings, 10 pad, 10 stab, 10 bass, 8 arp, 6 fx. Every program has its own name and a playing note.

A few of the programs

• Mirror Banner (brass): A saw and pulse pair through a dark 4 pole filter with a slow envelope sweep. Pulse width modulation keeps it moving. Chorus, envelope filter and multiband distortion on the output. Mod wheel widens the detune; aftertouch adds bite to the second oscillator.
• Rebel Arrow (lead): A unison three oscillator stack through a warm 4 pole filter. An attack right on the beat, with a gentle vibrato and glide. Plate reverb on the output. Mod wheel opens the filter; aftertouch adds resonance.
• Silver Harmony (poly): A detuned unison full saw, pulse and square stack through an open 4 pole filter. A slow filter LFO keeps it moving. Finished with chorus, envelope filter and multiband distortion. Mod wheel opens the filter and adds vibrato; aftertouch opens the filter.
• Hammer Lounge (keys): A three oscillator stack through a warm 4 pole filter. A punchy attack. Finished with tube compressor, three tap delay and ambience. Mod wheel opens the filter; aftertouch adds bite to the second oscillator.

Compatibility

For Behringer DeepMind 12, DeepMind 12D and DeepMind 12XD (firmware 1.1 or newer). The DeepMind 6 is not supported: it uses a different SysEx format and has 6 voices, so these files do not load on it. Load the bank with the official DeepMind editor app, SynthTribe or any SysEx librarian on macOS or Windows.
