Jaroslav helped me make a more efficient session that sounds clear and powerful, all while using less CPU than my original template. By combining elements of his templates and mine I was able to shape my Austrian Death Machine mixes into exactly what I was looking for. His drum templates in particular helped me see my mix from a new perspective, and it wouldn't sound nearly as good without him.

Heavy kicks, powerful snares, crystal clear toms, and sparkling cymbals! Jaroslav really knows what he's doing in the Metal/Rock world of drum sounds. I used to spend hours trying to get a drum sound I was happy with, now it takes only seconds!

FAQ

What hardware and software do I need to use METALTHOLOGY for Fractal Axe-Fx III?

A Fractal Audio Axe-Fx III (original, Mark II or Mark II Turbo) running firmware 32.05 or later, plus Axe-Edit III, the free editor from Fractal Audio. The blocks are stamped for firmware 32.05, so update the unit first if you are on an earlier version.

How do I load a block into a preset?

Open Axe-Edit III, select the channel you want the sound on, then right-click the block on the grid, choose to load a block preset and pick the .blk file. The whole voicing lands on that channel, ready to play.

What is the difference between the Rhythm Tight and Lead voicings?

Rhythm Tight is voiced for palm-mute chugging - the tightest low end, sitting where a mix needs it. Lead has more midrange and sustain with less low end, so it never muds up. Every amp comes in both, and since a block preset loads onto the channel you have selected, you can put one on channel A and the other on channel B and switch between them per scene.

Does the library include cabs or IRs, and will it overwrite my presets?

No cab or IR data is included, so your cab setup and any impulse responses you own stay untouched. Block presets load into the block you pick in the editor, so nothing is written to your preset slots until you save - your presets, scenes and backups stay exactly as they are.
