How to Install Develop Device Presets Into Your Fractal

A step-by-step guide for installing Develop Device presets and cabinet IRs into your Axe-Fx III, FM9, or FM3 device.

Launch the appropriate editor for your device: Axe-Edit III for Axe-Fx III, FM9-Edit for FM9, or FM3-Edit for FM3. Click "Tools" in the top menu and select "Manage Presets".
Locate your downloaded Develop Device presets folder. Select the presets you want to install and drag them to any available slots in the editor window. Please note that dragging presets into occupied slots will overwrite existing presets. Click "Save" when finished.
For FM9 and FM3: In the "Tools" menu, select "Manage Cabs". Click "Import" or "Open Directory" in the left "Browser" section and select your downloaded WAV cabinet IR files. Important: When importing cab IRs, make sure to place them in the exact slot numbers specified in the filenames to ensure proper functionality.
💡 Note for Axe-Fx III users: The TMA (Tone Match) block is primarily used instead of cabinet IRs, so you can skip the cab IR import step.
For FM9 and FM3: Select the imported cabinet IRs from the "Browser" section and drag them to their designated user slots as specified in the filenames. Check the Develop Device product documentation for the correct IR cabinet assignments. Click "Save" to complete the process.
Installation Complete! Your presets and cabinet IRs are now installed and ready to use. Remember that while presets can be placed in any available slot, cabinet IRs must be placed in their specific numbered slots as indicated in their filenames for proper functionality. For Axe-Fx III users, the TMA block is predominantly used instead of cabinet IRs, simplifying the installation process.
