Import the tab
Click Import GP or drop a .gp3–.gp file anywhere in the window. Tracks, tempo, key and every detected technique load into the articulation map.
Articulation-aware Guitar Pro → MIDI
A standalone desktop app that turns Guitar Pro tabs into MIDI your sampled guitars and basses actually understand — palm mutes, bends, slides and harmonics become the keyswitch notes, velocity ranges and pitch-bend curves your library expects.
Before / after
Guitar Pro's own MIDI export writes the notes. StringSync writes the performance — keyswitches, dynamics and pitch bend your sampled guitar can actually respond to.
From tab to DAW in six moves
No project files, no plugin chains, no DAW required for the conversion itself. StringSync keeps the whole job — tracks, techniques, timing and dynamics — visible in a single window.
Click Import GP or drop a .gp3–.gp file anywhere in the window. Tracks, tempo, key and every detected technique load into the articulation map.
Choose a factory preset — Shreddage, Odin, Ample, RealEight, Submission Audio and more — and the map fills with that library's keyswitches, hold behaviour and octave convention.
Categories show what your file actually uses. Any technique can emit a keyswitch, force a velocity or stay a plain note — save the result as your own preset.
Keyswitch timing with or before the note, keyswitch velocity, humanized dynamics, open-string boost and the pitch-bend range written as RPN 0,0.
Slide up the MIDI preview drawer: a full piano roll with notes, keyswitches, bends and a velocity lane, auditioned with bundled clean and driven tones.
Export the .mid — or drag the Export button straight into a folder or your DAW timeline. Load it on a track with your library. Done.

Every library below is fully mapped — pick its preset and one click sets all keyswitch zones, the octave convention and the hold behaviour exactly as the library documents.

User presets
All product names are trademarks of their respective owners. StringSync is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them — factory presets are compatibility references that emit only the MIDI events each library documents.
Palm mutes, bends, slides, natural and artificial harmonics, hammer-ons, tremolo, trills, vibrato and dead notes translate into the events your library expects instead of being flattened away.
Plain notes automatically emit the library's sustain keyswitch, and every keyswitch is released just before the next one — so a palm-muted phrase never bleeds into your clean chorus.
Guitar Pro dynamics from ppp to fff map to velocity 15–127 with per-articulation offsets, optional humanization and randomization, plus an open-string boost for ringing strings.
Full, half and quarter bends become pitch-bend curves that resolve and reset cleanly, with the bend range announced via RPN 0,0 so your plugin bends exactly as far as the tab says.
Some libraries expect notes an octave above sounding pitch. StringSync knows which — notes transpose on export, keyswitches never move, and the preview always plays at true pitch.
Help ▸ Run Engine Diagnostics executes a 97-check regression suite against the live conversion engine — pitch math, dynamics, keyswitch placement and per-library transposes, verified by parsing the actual exported bytes.

Pairs with StringSync
ShredSync is a standalone humanizer that works with MIDI from any source — but it pairs perfectly with StringSync. Point its watch folder at your StringSync exports and every new tab is humanized automatically: player-style velocity and timing, kept inside each library's articulation bands so nothing ever mis-triggers. A perfect next step, never a requirement.
