🎛 Turn Your MIDI Drums into a Natural Performance in Just a Few Clicks!

1 Load Your MIDI File

Click "Load MIDI" or drag and drop your drum MIDI file into the HumBeat window.
HumBeat supports all standard MIDI drum files (.mid, .midi) from any DAW or drum software.
Once loaded, your MIDI drum track will be analyzed, and the interface will show the number of notes detected.

2 Adjust Humanization Settings

HumBeat provides four core humanization features—customize them to match your desired playing style:

🎛 Timing Humanization

Subtle Fluctuations in Timing

Adds slight timing variations to notes to remove robotic precision.
Use the "Timing Variation" slider to control how much variation is applied (0-20ms).
Professional drummers typically fluctuate within ±5-15ms, so start with moderate settings.

🔊 Velocity Humanization

Natural Dynamic Variations

Adjusts the intensity of each hit, making some softer and others louder for realism.
The "Velocity Variation" slider controls the amount of randomness (0-10 velocity points).
Works great for snare dynamics, cymbal accents, and tom fills.

🥁 Ghost Notes

Enhance Groove & Feel

Adds subtle snare ghost notes around main snare hits to create a more natural groove.
Set the "Probability" slider (0-100%) to control how often ghost notes appear.
Adjust the "Velocity" of ghost notes for realistic volume (15-35 recommended).
If your kit uses multiple snare samples, enable "Use Additional Snare Notes" and set the secondary snare note.

⚡ Kick Drum Alternation

More Realistic Double Bass

Automatically alternates left and right kick for fast passages.
Enable "Alternate Left/Right Kick" and select the Left Kick Note (default: 35) and Right Kick Note (default: 36).
Choose a speed threshold (e.g., 32nd notes) at which the alternation will kick in.
Adjust the "Human Factor" slider to simulate foot fatigue, natural accents, and dominance of the stronger foot.

3 Preview Changes (Optional)

Before saving, HumBeat shows real-time statistics on how your settings affect the MIDI:

Timing Randomness – % of notes affected by timing shifts.

Velocity Variation – % of notes affected by velocity changes.

Alternated Kicks – % of kick notes that are alternated.

Added Ghost Notes – % of new ghost notes added.

Use these stats to fine-tune your settings before exporting.

4 Save Your Humanized MIDI

Click "Save MIDI", choose a file name, and select a location to save your new MIDI file.
HumBeat keeps the original structure, tempo, and time signatures while applying humanization.
The saved file is compatible with all DAWs, drum VSTs, and MIDI editors.

5 Load the Humanized MIDI Into Your DAW

Import the processed MIDI into your DAW or drum software.
Assign it to your favorite drum plugin or sampler (Superior Drummer 3, GetGood Drums, Mixwave, SSD 5.5, etc.).
Fine-tune the performance in your DAW if needed, but most users find no further editing required! 🎧
