How to Prepare Files for a Production DAW Template Based on Your Tracks

Step 1: Exporting Tracks

  1. Project Settings: Ensure your project is set to 24-bit depth and a 48 kHz sample rate. If your files are at 44.1 kHz, they will need conversion since my studio hardware does not support this rate.
  2. Export WAV/MIDI Files: Export each audio and MIDI track individually, ensuring they are fully synchronized from the start to the end of the song, even if some parts are silent.

Step 2: Organizing Files

  1. Naming Tracks: Clearly name each track (e.g., "Guitar_Left", "Bass", "Vocals").
  2. Color Coding: If possible, use color coding for different instrument groups.
  3. No Plugins on Inserts: Ensure the project has no plugins on inserts and no routing to buses or similar setups.

Step 3: Compressing and Sending Files

  1. Compress Folder: Gather all exported files into one folder and compress it into a ZIP or RAR file.
  2. Send the Folder: Upload the compressed folder to a cloud storage service (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) and share the download link.
