Made for modern metal, djent, metalcore and post-metal.

Synth layers that sit under down-tuned guitars: wide pads that fill the gaps between riffs, tight arps and sequences that lock to the double kick, leads that cut through and basses that glue to the low strings.

The sound

Every preset is built for the genre from the ground up, and many of them sweep through the Hydrasynth's wavetables while you hold a note, so the sound keeps moving instead of sitting still. A few to start with: Abyssal Plateau (pad), Ashen Drift (pad), Abyssal Spindle (arp), Ashen Growler (bass lead), Abyssal Arrow (lead), Broken Quartet (strings).

How it plays

All eight macros are set up on every preset and named after what they do, so you can shape a sound from the front panel without opening a single menu. The mod wheel and aftertouch do something musical on every sound, and velocity shapes the played ones. Lay a pad under a breakdown and open it up with the mod wheel, or let an arp ride the kick pattern and push it harder with aftertouch.

What is inside

128 presets: 24 pads, 16 arps, 14 leads, 12 basses, 12 bass leads, 12 strings, 8 FX, 8 rhythmic sounds, 8 sequences, 6 ambient sounds, 4 brass, 4 chord sounds.

What you get

One zip with the whole bank as an ASM Manager file (.hydra), the same bank as a SysEx file, every preset as its own file sorted by category, a preset list with every name and what its macros, mod wheel and aftertouch do, and a README with install steps.

Compatibility

For the ASM Hydrasynth Desktop, Keyboard, Explorer and Deluxe with firmware 2.0 or newer.
